Beginning on Thursday, January 6th, we will be beginning a regular maintenance period that will last from 10:00pm until 1:00am to install regular system patches. This maintenance period will NOT affect any running or queued jobs and SHOULD NOT affect your ability to use the system, though it is possible that some issues may arise during the maintenance window.
The regular maintenance window schedule will look like so:
- 1st Thursday of the month: Non-disruptive updates that do NOT require any server reboots
- 3rd Thursday of the month: Possibly disruptive updates that MAY require server reboots.
SSH sessions and NX desktop sessions may be terminated during the maintenance period on the 3rd Thursday of the month however, running or queued jobs should NOT be affected.
These maintenance windows will be present on the USF IT Calendar and will be announced on the Research Computing Blog rather than on this mailing list so as not to make it increasingly noisy. If you wish to get reminders about these maintenance periods, you can subscribe to our RSS feed.
