The OpenOffice productivity suite, which include a Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Database, Equation Editor, and several other applications has been installed on the CIRCE cluster and is available to all users of the CIRCE Desktop. The OpenOffice apps have been grouped together in the Applications menu, in a sub-menu item titled “Office”.

We will be making upgrades to our core systems that will improve reliability of services. They will take place in two phases: Wednesday Oct 20′th, 1-5PM No downtime is expected, however there may be very brief lapses in connectivity for services like /home, SGE, and hosted websites. Two rather irritating bugs have been squashed today. The missing Menu button, forcing users to right-click on the desktop, has been restored. Also, arrow keys, page-up, page-down, and print screen should finally work correctly for all clients. Now that these show-stopper bugs have been taken care of, we’ll focus more in integrating [...] |
